About Us
A bimonthly, Combat Law brings together diverse voices united against all forms of discrimination and exploitation in order to engage in an active, meaningful discussion and foster a climate for legal activism in pursuit of crafting a more tolerant, just, democratic and equitable world. The bimonthly provides its readers with sharp insights into some of the most pressing legal/human rights issues of our times. Our writers comprise experts, lawyers, professors and journalists, who more often are also activists, and are amongst the leaders in their fields. Though
a bimonthly, Combat Law also releases special issues without adhering to the bimonthly schedule when urgent and contemporary topics require it.
‘COMBAT LAW' is the voice of lawyers and social activists who form the cutting edge of legal activism in India - a collaborative effort to forge a platform bringing together experiences, strategies and all expressions of struggle. Crisply written, the content is useful to not only legal practitioners, but also to activists' groups, academicians, students and all those interested in an alternative and progressive viewpoint.
Recently, we have upgraded the design, layout and the content of the magazine. To further strengthen our endeavour in the pursuit of human rights, we are looking for your support, as in contributions of articles/sponsorship through advertisements or subscription/donations to sustain this unique Human Rights bimonthly.

Combat Law
is a collaborative effort of all those working towards the consolidation
and extension of human rights through the justice system. The magazine
was conceived during the ‘National Conference on Human Rights,
Social Movements, Globalization and the Law’ at Panchgani,
in December 2000. Combat Law's intent is:
• Taking a collective look at how the law can be used to defend
and strengthen the people’s movements.
• Strengthening national campaigns.
• Pushing for policies and laws that we want.
• Assisting the sections of the judiciary still open to enforcement
and expansion of basic rights. Read
